Leah Briggs is a talented young country music singer from Beachport, which is a major fishing port between Robe and Millicent in the South - East of South Australia. Leah has attained an incredible level of achievement for a 17 year old, which indicates the amazing talent of this lovely young lady. Her beginnings in competitions began at the Francis Folk Festival in March 2001, where she took out first placing for the 18 years and under Female Vocal. From there Leah has gone on to enter and win many awards in South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales. Her biggest achievements to date are being a finalist in the South Australian Champion of Champions junior section in 2002, and in the senior section in 2003. Leah was awarded the Len Wakefield Memorial Trophy in 2002, and the Frank Harding Memorial Trophy for Excellence at Riverland Country Music Festival in June 2003. After being placed in the Mildura Festival Leah qualified to compete in the Victorian Champion of Champions, and was awarded a scholarship to attend the Camerata College in Tamworth in July 2003, from which she has since graduated.

Leah performed at the South Australian showcase for Country Music in Adelaide in November 2003, and performed on the S.A Showcase at the Hands of Fame Park in Tamworth in January 2004, for the third year in a row. Winning the "Telstra Road to Tamworth" competition in November 2003 meant a lot to Leah ,and saw her placed in the top five finals. The experience she gained through her exposure in Tamworth following this competition has benefited her immensely.

Leah's appeared in February 2004 as an artist in the Fringe Festival at the Botanical Gardens in Adelaide. Leah's ambition for the future is to become a successful country music artist, and to develop her songwriting skills, ultimately producing an album. Her greatest pleasure is to perform to an audience. Her biggest "buzz" of all is being encouraged and complimented by other artists, whom she finds are always so supportive of hopeful talent quest entrants. Music is something Leah loves and enjoys and to make it her career is her ultimate goal, and she is prepared to work hard to realize her dream.
