SARAH GRIFFIN

 

The webmaster was advised in July of 2009 that Sarah is no longer working professionally.

At ten years of age Sarah was playing guitar on the streets at Tamworth where she met and was praised by Barry Thornton for her guitar skills and musical ability. Sarah is an adaptable competent musician. 

She plays Rhythm, Bass and is a learning Lead Guitarist, writes songs and has her first CD titled “Dreams above the fireplace” released and receiving airplay on radio.

Available as a solo vocalist, backing musician, Sarah also performs with her own band “Suede

At numerous festivals such as Barmera, Mt Gambier, Gawler, and Mildura Sarah has won many awards for her singing ability and her Guitar Work.

Her first Public performance in Barmera Festival won Sarah the Under 13 Vocal Section when she was 11.  Sarah was the youngest entrant in the Open Instrumental Section at Barmera Country Music Festival where she placed 3rd.

At the recent Port Augusta Festival Sarah won the Under 16 years Instrumental Section and went on to win the Junior Entertainer of the year for 2003.

For the past two years she has been a finalist in the Muster Talent Search at the Entertainment Centre.

Sarah loves to perform and is happiest when she is on stage presenting her love of Country Music.  Sarah sees her future in Country Music and is working diligently towards it.

Sarah won the Cindy Shelton Memorial Award in 2004 and attened the Tamworth Camerata College in June of 2004.

Sarah is only 15 (2004) years old but has been involved in Country Music since she was 5.

At the 2004 SACCM Champion of Champions Competition it was announced that Sarah won the Len Wakefield Memorial Award from the Adelaide Country Music Club.

Sarah won a number of awards at Port Augusta and at Port Pirie in 2005, click the links to see the results.
