SADDLETRAMP

Saddletramp was an Adelaide based band formed in 1997 around singer/songwriter John Turner. As well as original songs the band plays a wide range of material from gentle ballads to hard-driving country rock, with numbers from the early days of country music to the latest foot-stomping songs from Nashville.

John was President of the Adelaide Country Music Club from 2003 to August 2006 when he moved back to Queensland.

Vocals, guitar
John Turner was raised in a droving family in outback Queensland and spent his early years in the lifestyle that that breeds country music. Like the songs of Stan Coster and Slim Dusty, of whom he is a great admirer, John’s songs speak of the life, hardships, joys and concerns of people on the land.
