Attitude is the husband and wife team of Chris and Linda Fretwell. Attitude began their journey about ten years ago, with the way that they marketed themselves they became known as the duo with the attitude, so a name change was obvious.
Both are from musical backgrounds. Linda’s parents both sang and all her brothers have been in bands for many years. Chris’s mother sings and all of his sisters play piano one also plays guitar and sings, dad played banjo.
Although late starters in country music Chris has had associations with writing songs lyrics for Dwayne Elix and Tricia Wilson and Midnight Mountain Blue. Chris also had a company called country promotions supply acts to Country areas back in the eighties.
So who gave this duo with an attitude the permission to write songs and release an album, Chris say’s, you can blame local South Australian country music identity Charlie McCracken who told him you can’t go to Tamworth and busk, without a CD to sell. In typical attitude style, they went ahead and found a recording studio that they were comfortable with, then sat down and wrote the songs. They then sought the help of friends and local musicians to put it all together in the studio. The first album has sold well and is still receiving plenty of airplay on community radio in Adelaide and as far away as Queensland.
Attitude have travelled various parts of Australia promoting their music and getting inspiration for another Album
Attitude are contracted to “The Make A Wish Foundation”. Ten percent of all income from bookings is donated to The foundation.
Chris plays guitar and some keyboard as well as singing. Linda sings and plays the percussion instruments shakers, clapping sticks, tambourine and anything that will make a noise!
