With songs from a diverse range including ACDC, Hank Williams, Paul Kelly, Johnny Cash and more, you never know what to expect at a Cowtippers gig!
The Cowtippers can be spotted playing regularly at a variety of venues including hotels, cafe's and festivals. The Cowtippers are:
Henk "Happy" Groot (vocals/guitar/fiddle/mandolin)
Mannum resident Henk has a penchant for corny cowboy songs guaranteed to get the crowd singing along. Henk has played with Los Amigos, Murphy's Law, The Dusty Peat Band and The Rocky River Bush Band. You can often find Henk perched on a barstool in the front bar of any given pub with a guitar or fiddle in his hands.
John "The Ripper" Hyland (vocals/guitar/dobro/banjo)
A talented vocalist as well as a dab hand on his various instruments, John began his career playing pedal steel with cult country band The Lone Rangers. John has played with noted singer-songwriters such as Paul Kelly, Don Morrison, Steve Foster and Terry Bradford.
Rick Hunt (banjo/guitar/vocals)
Known in some circles as The Dreddlocked Cowboy, Rick's driving banjo gives The Cowtippers a unique and irresistible sound. Rick has played with other bands over the years including Murphy's Law, Greeneye and The Lofty Mountain Boys.
Diana Fusco (double bass/vocals)
Life member of the Sore Fingers Association, Diana began playing tin whistle in popular Irish band Murphy's Law before falling in love with a double bass affectionately known as The Bitch". The solid rhythm of the double bass adds its own deep voice to The Cowtippers sound.
