For over 30 years the members of Impact/The DV8's have been entertaining crowds with their high quality rock’n’roll and country rock performances.

Jim Giles, Trevor Denton, Gary Standley and Trevor Philbey rock the audience with their old-time Chuck Berry, Beach Boys, Beatles, Elvis, Roy Orbison, and Rolling Stones renditions, with that dash of pure Impact/The DV8's style.

All members have extensive experience playing rock’n’roll, cabaret dinner dances, and country rock shows across Adelaide, country South Australia, and interstate. Band members have been fortunate to support many of Australia’s favourite musicians, including: Johnny Mack, Jimmy Little, Johnny O’Keefe, Slim Dusty, Johnny Chester, Becy Cole, Normie Rowe, and Little Patty.

Impact/The DV8's prides itself on providing audiences with an entertaining and musically satisfying evening. The band plays a combination of traditional rock’n’roll and country rock, with a smattering of slower songs for dancers to catch their breath, and a range of instrumentals. The band is also able to perform some requests, both pre-arranged and requested during the show. Impact’s and The DV8's repertoire is huge!

Venues that have booked Impact/The DV8's include: St Kilda Hotel, Berri Club, Paringa Hotel, Gaslight Tavern, Schumuluma Club (Brickworks Market), The Cue Sports Club, Lighthouse Hotel, West Thebarton Hotel, Highway Inn, Brompton Park Hotel, The Dutch Club, The Morphett Vale Function Centre and the Mannum Community Club.

Fourteen years ago Jim formed the country rock group Jim n DV8’s. The name came about because we unashamedly deviated from the older style country. We felt there was a need to play country that relates to the younger fans as well. We have always included country rock songs in our rock n roll band IMPACT, and we have found on many occasions patrons were asking for more country rock eg. Alan Jackson, Dwight Yoakam, Brooks & Dunn, Eddy Rabbit etc. Therefore we dedicate this style of music to the DV8’s.

The DV8's are very proud to have just recorded their first CD, LITTLE BRIGHT EYES, featuring Wanetta Garnaut on the track Storms Never Last, which is dedicated to her memory.
