Emily Reed is just 17 years of age. Three years ago she moved from Mildura, Victoria to a little town in South Australia called Port Pirie. Emily began singing at the age of 13. She was classically trained for a short period of time and then decided it wasn't for her. Soon after changing direction, heading towards Country, Emily was trained by local Mildura woman Corinna Cordwell for eighteen months. This is where Emily found her passion for music.
During this time Emily started entering Talent Quests in Victoria and South Australia, and strumming a few tunes on her guitar.

| o 2004 | Qualified for the South Australian Champion of Champions. Competed in the Junior section and made it through to the Grand Final. |

| o 2004 | Competed in the Grand Final of the Whyalla Westlands Rising Star Competition. |
| o 2004 | Mildura Country Music Festival. 3rd Junior Country Rock, 16 yrs & under. Accepted to compete in the Telstra Road to Tamworth heat. |
| o 2004 | Barmera Country Music Festival. 1st Australian Bush Ballads, open to all ages. Invited to go to Tamworth 2005 and compete in the Australian Bush Balladeers Competition |
| o 2004 | Northern Country Music Festival. 2nd Traditional Country Song, open to all ages. 3rd Senior Gospel, 16 yrs & over. Accepted to compete in the Telstra Road to Tamworth heat. |
