Whether it be a haunting country ballad, a country rock, pop, blues or folk song, the Texettes award winning songs are best described as authentic, roots music, that has intelligent lyrics, loping rhythms and strong melodies – all delivered with power and emotion!
The Texettes have a lot to be excited about! They have the songs, now they have the band! After sprouting their original rootsy music around Adelaide and beyond for the last 10 years Helen Ellis and Terry Bradford, the essence of The Texettes, will be joined by award winning songwriter Sam Wyatt on keyboards, award winning bass player Denis Surmon on bass, “born to be a drummer” Tom Cowcill and the multi skilled Samuel Leske on lead guitar.
The track “By a Living Thing” from their 2010 album release, A Surefire Cure, a semi finalist in the Tamworth Songwriting Competition, has been receiving plenty of attention from Australian (and some International) radio stations. The song “Black Angel”, third in the Modern Section of the 2010 APRA SA Country Awards, will be on the 2011 album planned for release in July.
The focus for 2011 is live performance, so to keep in touch with all things Texettes, email Helen to receive a copy of the regular “WOOHOO” news at helen@texettes.com or visit www.texettes.com
